Currently, the Immigration Department of Malaysia requires students from certain nationalities to apply for a Single Entry Visa (SEV) from the authorised Malaysian Embassy at the students’ home country (country list click here). In order to do so, students are required to obtain a Visa with Reference (VWR) letter prior to their visit to the Malaysian Embassy. There are also nationalities who may directly enter Malaysia without a Single Entry Visa but are required to have the Visa Approval Letter (VAL). (Refer to the Visa Application Procedures below).

Applicants need to apply for the eVAL (e-Visa Approval Letter) via the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) online application website: https://educationmalaysia.gov.my 3 months before making arrangements to travel to Malaysia or for registration.

For any passport or documents submission related to visa matters MUST be only submitted by the students themselves to the Visa Office IMCC , USM. Submission by any representatives will not be accepted and it is considered as violating the immigration law of Malaysia.
