“The experiences and qualifications I’ve garnered in USM made me capable to obtain an internship position at BASF, Germany. Germany is a very beautiful country to work or study in; I was very excited when I finally got to experience different seasons 😀 In terms of work, it is known to have good work-life balance as well as efficiency, which is true based on my experience; It really opened my eyes to different work lifestyles. My colleagues were warm and welcoming, and I felt very comfortable to share my ideas with the team. I learned so much about my field of study that I feel like I’m a step closer to realizing my career dreams. My internship in Germany encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone to integrate with a different society and to start learning German, since the language is very important there. The culture there is diverse, unique, and also Muslim friendly (Islam is the second largest religion). So, if one of your goals is to expose yourself to a different world, an outbound to Germany is just what you need. My internship in Germany was one of the best decisions I have made, and it was worth it to spend part of my life there”.

“My experience going for exchange in Canada was really amazing and was truly an eye-opening experience as I got to immerse myself in the culture of the Canadians. Coming from a country that has only one weather, it was truly a huge change to be in Canada as there is 4 seasons over there. However, I really enjoyed the whole experience as I learn about the people, their culture & lifestyle. The Canadians were really friendly and helpful in helping me to get used to the life over there. I never really felt lonely as the University constantly organize trips and programs for the exchange students!  Besides, my housemates were very accommodating and invited me to celebrate festivals with them such as Christmas and Thanksgiving.I’m truly happy I made the decision to send myself to the other side of the world. I met so many amazing friends who are still in contact till today!”

“The 4 months I have spent in South Korea was that kind of moments which I would cherish all my life. The people I met in HNU are the people that I appreciate very much because during that time it was hard for everyone as COVID-19 cases were spiking in South Korea but they were so kind to endlessly provide me with all the necessities and needs. They also bring us to travel to famous cities which of course they had done thorough research making sure the place we went are safe to travel to in this pandemic. I find it very unfortunate that all the classes were conducted online but despite that I still manage to make friends which I still in contact even now, so I do believe the bond I had with my Korean friends are irreplaceable. Overall, I learned a lot of things during my stay, from their language used even to their culture which some I took home such as using chopsticks when eating noodles; it is really a fun and amusing experience to learn people’s way of living.” The 4 months I have spent in South Korea was that kind of moments which I would cherish all my life.
